For nature lovers, we are on the river and 3 miles to the ocean and the Plum Island National Bird and Wildlife Refuge. A hundred yards away is a boat and kayak launch. Bring or rent a bike for a day at the beach, and use our beach chairs.
Less than an hour drive from Boston and Logan airport, we are centrally located - an easy drive north to both the New Hampshire and Maine coasts and Salem, Gloucester and Rockport to the south.

NEWS Our house has just become a new tourist site!! With the recent release of the BBC documentary on the former owner, Gordon Welchman, the genius behind the breaking of the German Enigma code during WWII, we have begun to have visitors to see where Gordon lived. Open the link below to watch the documentary, much of which was filmed in our home.
Settled in the mid 1600's by 1800 it was a bustling shipbuilding and trading center, and one of the richest cities in the young United States. Now it has carefully protected it's history and is a beautiful and vibrant arts, music, dining and shopping mecca.
